Grow More With Less

Academic Collaboration with HUJI – PlantDitech Plantarray units to conduct agricultural tests to optimize irrigation, nutrients and bio-stimulant levels

ICL and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel (HUJI) are collaborating on a project to conduct high-level agricultural tests using the Plantarray system from PlantDiTech, an Israeli company, which provides ag-researchers  with a high-throughput physiological phenotyping screening and diagnostic platform, as well as conclusive analytical software, to achieve deep insights into plant-environment interactions.

Grow more with less - optimize irrigation, nutrients, and bio-stimulant levels

ICL is using the Plant Ditech system to test new products, provide a clear understanding on the impact of different fertilizers and biostimulants on plant physiology and growth under specific growing conditions.

A scientific experiment conducted with the Plant Ditech system at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment (the Hebrew University of Jerusalem), tested ICL’s new biostimulant products developed by ICL R&D. The results were very fast, precise, and positive: The new biostimulant with seaweed showed improved drought tolerance and increased plant productivity of pepper plants.

These results were published by the scientists of the Faculty in a  scientific paper at the leading and prestigious scientific journal “Frontiers in Plant Science”.

As a result, a new ICL fertilizer product was released to the market called Solinure® Polymarine.  Solinure® Polymarine is an innovative range of chloride free water-soluble NPK fertilizers enhanced with seaweed. It is designed for its use through drip irrigation systems, and it is ideal for all crops. The seaweed helps plants to cope with various stresses, stimulates root development, and promotes vigorous growth at all plant stages.
